Announcement for the First Exhibition of the ArtofHealers for Healthcare Workers in KwaZulu-Natal

We are excited to announce the inaugural exhibition of the ArtofHealers, set to take place soon in KwaZulu-Natal. This exhibition is a tribute to the legacy of the "Doctors in Art" exhibitions previously held in Durban, showcasing the artistic talents of healthcare workers.

The ArtofHealers is a unique hybrid virtual and physical exhibition platform designed to highlight the visual art and photography created by healthcare workers. Submissions for this first exhibition will open soon, with the opening event to be hosted at a flagship private hospital.

Key features of the ArtofHealers exhibition include:

- Curated by Renowned Judges: Unlike previous exhibitions, the ArtofHealers will be curated by esteemed judges who are artists and photographers, not healthcare professionals.

- Innovative Display: Selected works will be displayed in printed form and on specially designed vertical prisms, ensuring a mobile and dynamic presentation.

- Submission Guidelines: Any healthcare worker is welcome to submit up to five images of their artwork or photographs for consideration. Once selected by the judges, artists and photographers will be notified and required to pay a participation fee. This fee covers marketing, printing, displaying, and organizing an opening ceremony.

The exhibition will include a talk highlighting the benefits of creativity in reducing stress, preventing burnout, and managing mental well-being. The funds raised will support the running of the website and the exhibition. Surplus funds will be used to organize exhibitions for medical students and other healthcare students.

The ArtofHealers is a registered company, and its directors receive no payment other than reimbursement for expenses related to running the website and exhibitions.
